Four roads out of Littlestown Editor:

July 03, 2002

As lifelong members of Littlestown we are really amazed at how some, not all, import families feel about our town. We are truly tired of their complaints. If they cannot find anything nice about our town and school, why do they stay, as most families are appreciative of the benefits of living in a small community.

We have had many, many good years before they moved here. Many families and businesses have thrived. Our sports teams have done well, both within the school district and the town teams. What we are trying to say is: Most people living here are not dumb, or in cliques, or cheats, and we resent people insinuating that we are. All people of the community should work together for the betterment of everyone.

As for the remark about a father giving a graduating senior (his son) a diploma: It has been, and apparently still is, the privilege of a school board member. It is a small "perk" for performing a thankless, payless service.

We are glad to see the school board and accountants who were responsible for the audit of the school budget had the appropriate proof and answers. One can only wonder what the three critics' true purpose really was.

As citizens of the Littlestown area we feel it is a privilege to live here and enjoy what we have. In the words of a lifelong citizen, "There are four roads into Littlestown and four roads out."
